According to a report just released by Andersen Consulting, the attitudes of executives in Europe is a major barrier to the success of e-commerce in the region. The report found that there is a surprising hesitancy among the continent's business leaders. Despite their enthusiasm for e-commerce's future potential, the report says that European executives are still standing on the sidelines. This, the study says, is jeopardizing Europe's long-term competitiveness. The report found that, while 82 percent of the executives surveyed believe that e-commerce will have a strategic impact on their businesses in the future, only 39 percent are taking steps today to incorporate e-commerce into their current operations and strategies. In addition to this, the report found that only 19 percent of European executives regard e-commerce as a serious competitive threat to their business today. ...
